Rusheen: ...Highly Anticipated
Get prepared to enter the world of Rusheen, hard-core female rapper from the Seattle area with frequent hops across the border to hometown Vancouver. She undeniably keeps it one hundred percent real and original on ...Highly Anticipated with her gritty story-telling style, as pioneered by Slick Rick afficionados might say. Incorporating the best of the old-school rap mentality and delivery that we all love so much with an up-to-the minute progressive sound, you can't afford to miss out on hearing this release. Rusheen shows versatility throughout with her topics, lyrics and beats, with razor-sharp wit and dead-on precise timing, but not taking herself too seriously, she will make you laugh as well. Showing an unstoppable desire to get her stories heard by the masses, Rusheen powers through gripping verses and tongue twisting lines to bring you to the catchy hook-laden choruses. It all adds up to a compelling album, on-par with the best out there!
Bonuses on the CD include a radio version of "Riot", a Dirrty South 808 remix of the hit "Spotlight", innovative Throwed & Slowed (think Chopped & Screwed) mixes of 7 tracks, and hidden track "Hold On"

echo :: dubstyle
Veteran dub producer 'Vudu' is at it again on dubstyle. The follow-up to roots dub, the new dubstyle album bumps up the tempo, adds subtle electronic/live beats, piles on more effects, and has more variety and musicianship (not to take anything away from the previous release - it's nice too!). This time out, it's a melding of analog and digital worlds, taking the best from each of course. There are still plenty of live instruments, and live mixdowns in the analog domain on a big old mixing board, with effects acrobatics just not possible in the computer world. The result: a masterful album, deeper than deep; play it loud!
"Slowed" bonus tracks: Innovative mixes where the songs are deepened and slowed, as
popularized in hip-hop by DJ Screw.
